Great strides have been made to make Illinois childcare the safest in the country for infants.

  • April 2010, new childcare licensing was put into place with some of the countries toughest requirements for Safe Sleep.
  • January 1, 2011 all prospective childcare providers were required to receive SIDS/Safe Sleep education before receiving their license.
  • January 1, 2012 all childcare providers who care for infants are required to have SIDS/SUID/Safe Sleep education every 3 years.
